Deadly-again Williams powers Realtors to 2nd win

 source: gmanews.tv

Slowly but surely, Kelly Williams is regaining back his old deadly form.

Completely recovered from a blood disorder that sidelined him for most of last season’s Fiesta Cup, Williams poured in 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to steer Sta. Lucia past Rain or Shine, 95-90, in the first overtime game of the KFC-PBA Philippine Cup Wednesday at the Astrodome.

Williams also added six assists in an all-around performance that netted the Realtors their second straight win and a tie with Barangay Ginebra, Alaska and defending champion Talk `N Text on top of the standings.

The Realtors limited the winless Elasto Painters (0-2) to a lone field goal in overtime to hack out the hard-earned victory.

New recruit Gabby Espinas collected 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Realtors. He could have won the game outright for Sta. Lucia in regulation, but missed on a soft jumper as time expired.

But along with Bitoy Omolon, Williams and Joseph Yeo, the Realtors outscored the Elasto Painters in the first three minutes of overtime, 8-4, for a 94-88 lead.

Ryan Araña had 19 points and Gabe Norwood added 18 and nine rebounds for Rain or Shine. Norwood’s fadeaway jumper in the final 2.7 seconds tied the game at 84, setting the stage for overtime play.

The Elasto Painters played without injured players Sol Mercado and Mike Hrabak.
